Jade and Clover

Jade & Clover is a charming woman-owned boutique nestled in Deep Ellum that combines succulents, cacti, houseplants, jewelry, decor, stationery, and unique gifts in a cozy space that’s perfect for shopping, crafting, or creative date nights. It is known for it’s plant bar - a space where you can build your own terrarium using your choice of pots, sands, plants, rocks, and decorative accents. Jade & Clover also hosts plant workshops and parties and offers a Traveling Terrarium Bar service for private and corporate events, bringing their signature interactive experiences to off-site venues. No matter the reason for your visit, Jade and Clover blends greenery, creativity, and interactive fun in a stylish setting.

Nicholson-Hardie

For over 100 years, Nicholson-Hardie has been a home and garden haven. With an abundant selection of over 1,000 items, there’s something for everyone. This family-operated business has two locations along Lovers Lane. The Home and Garden Shop, also known as the indoor store, has been in the same location since the early 1950s. Here, you will find a wide array of home, gift, and garden products from orchids and floral arrangements to hand-painted dishware and accent pieces. This location also has a seed store and a gardening tools selection. The Nursery, or the outdoor store, is where you’ll find a vast selection of annuals, perennials, flower bulbs, trees, shrubs, and much more. Upon entering it feels like you’ve stumbled into a botanical oasis with countless plants and flowers surrounding you. It’s also the perfect place to search for unique garden art and accents including pots, containers, benches, and fountains.

North Haven Gardens

Since 1951, North Haven Gardens has been a cherished botanical haven for North Texas residents. Nestled in Preston Hollow, this bright and welcoming garden center features a diverse selection of indoor and outdoor plants—everything from tropicals and succulents to Texas-native perennials, pollinator-friendly blooms, vegetables, and herb varieties. The wonderful Garden Coach program offers visitors personalized consultations to help gardeners of all skill levels grow in the challenging climate and soil of North Texas. Additionally, North Haven features a wonderful boutique cafe, Ralph & Rose, garden-themed gifts, pottery, and tools and supplies. North Haven Gardens is one of my personal favorites in all of North Texas.

Oasis Plant Shop

Oasis Plant Shop is an adorable woman-owned boutique in the Bishop Arts District. The building, which was once a house, has been converted into a colorful and vibrant retreat filled floor-to-ceiling with succulents, air and zebra plants, palms, and terra-cotta planters. These plants are wonderful for both novice and expert gardeners alike and the staff are well-known for providing individualized plant advice and recommendations. On top of that, Oasis Plant Shop offers house-calls, special plant orders, landscape design, plant maintenance subscriptions, and seasonal program. With its stylish, homey vibe and emphasis on education and connection, Oasis has become more than a shop—it’s a community oasis where both new and seasoned plant lovers feel welcomed and supported.

The Planting Hand

The Planting Hand may be the newest shop on this list, but it has quickly become a local favorite in the Greenville neighborhood. A locally-owned and operated business, The Planting Hand specializes in a rotating line of rare plants and unique home goods and accessories. It’s a great place if you’re looking for an indoor plant (or two) to bring into your home. Every staff member is extremely knowledgeable about all their plants and the level of care required.

Redenta’s Garden Shop

Located in the Lakewood neighborhood of Dallas, Redenta’s Garden Shop is committed to protecting the environment and offers locals and visitors with 100% organic solutions for their gardens and landscapes. The shop is renowned for its curated selection of Texas natives, heirloom herbs, old‑fashioned perennials, succulents, and rare annuals. Its relaxed, European‑inspired ambiance, accentuated by rustic décor, crystal accents, bamboo‑bristle brooms, and terrariums, reflects its founder’s goal of creating a peaceful, artful garden escape for shoppers. Redenta’s believes in establishing long-term relationships with gardeners and strives to provide the highest level of customer service.

Ruibal’s Plants of Texas

Since 1984, Ruibal’s Plants of Texas has been known as “where Dallas goes for plants”. This family-owned business has grown from its humble beginnings as a small vendor stall into a Dallas staple with four garden locations and a 30-acre greenhouse farm just outside of downtown Dallas. Ruibal’s offers an immense selection of bedding plants, annuals, perennials, shrubs, trees, tropicals, succulents, and herbs—fresh each day thanks to deliveries from their farm Ruibals. In essence, Ruibal’s Plants of Texas combines scale, local greenhouse-grown diversity, community roots, and excellent service—making it a top destination for both seasoned gardeners and casual plant shoppers in Dallas.

Sunshine Miniature Trees

For over 52 years, Sunshine Miniature Trees has been the go-to shop for quality bonsai miniature trees and houseplants. Bonsai is the Japanese art of growing and shaping miniature trees in containers, mimicking the scale and shape of full-size trees. In addition to offering a dozen types of bonsai at various prices, Sunshine Miniature Trees has a wide variety of lush houseplants and fruit trees. Recently, the store has set up a gift area with a collection of books, tea pots, healing teas, and seasonal gifts to compliment your tree or plant purchase. All of this is in an adorable yellow shop in Dallas’ Midtown.

Walton’s Garden Center

Conveniently located across from the Dallas Arboretum, Walton’s Garden Center is a beloved family-owned nursery that has served Dallas since 1986. Walton’s has a huge selection of botanicals and flowers including annuals, perennials, trees, shrubs, vegetables, herbs, and tropical plants. This, paired with fountains, pottery, garden decor, and soil amendments - most of which are organic and climate-suited to the DFW area - make it a favorite among locals like myself. The staff at Walton’s Garden Center are extremely knowledgable and well-trained - they have licensed irrigators, landscape architects, a registered general contractor, and certified nurserymen to help you with any questions or ideas. The gift shop, which is stocked with hundreds of beautiful garden-themed gifts, home decor, and seasonal items, is the perfect place for any plant lover to browse.
