Best Pumpkin Patches in North Texas for Fall Fun
October is right around the corner, meaning itβs time for pumpkins galore! Whether you like going to a pumpkin patch to purchase some for your home, taking the kids out for a fun afternoon, or taking beautiful fall photos, going to a pumpkin patch is a must in autumn. Here are a few of my favorite pumpkin patches in the DFW area that are worth a visit.
Autumn at the Arboretum
Named by Fodorβs Travel as βOne of Americaβs Best Pumpkin Festivals,β the Annual Autumn at the Dallas Arboretum is a must-see. Overall, there are over 100,000 pumpkins, squash, and gourds hailing from the pumpkin capital of Texas, Floydada AND 150,000 beautiful fall blooming plants throughout the garden. Going to the Arboretum is one of my favorite fall traditions, especially since the Arboretum has a unique theme each fall season.
This year, the iconic pumpkin village transforms into Β‘Mundo MΓ©xico! - an extraordinary celebration of Mexian culture, art, and the harvest season. Visitors will traverse through seven iconic regions of Mexico and admire alebrije-inspired sculptures by world-renowned Oaxacan artists Jacobo and MarΓa Γngeles.

The Big Orange Pumpkin Farm
Nestled in the countryside of Gunter, The Big Orange Pumpkin Farm is an annual destination for thousands of North Texas and Oklahoma residents. While the farm and its general store are open year-round to offer a βlife on the farmβ experience, it becomes the perfect autumn escape at this time of year. Families, school field trips, church groups, and pumpkin lovers all come here to experience the colors, flavors, smells, and magic of the fall season.
To the right of the entrance gate, a huge field beckons visitors to wander the rows and rows of pumpkins waiting to be picked. Thereβs a type of pumpkin for everyone - big ones, small ones, colorful ones, round ones, and lopsided ones. But pumpkin picking isnβt the only activity on the farm. Visitors can explore a 6-foot hay maze, take a fun hayride across the property, and feed farm animals. The petting farm is my favorite part of the farm - I love it when the sweet animals eat food right out of my hand or do something cute for a photo.

Blase Family Farm
If youβre craving an authentic, small-town fall experience, Blase Family Farm is a charming, familyβrun agritourism farm nestled on 22 wooded acres in Rockwall, Texas. Blase Family Farm has two peak seasons: spring for blueberries and fall for pumpkins. Their pumpkin patch is made up of all shapes, sizes, and colors. Whether you're decorating your front porch or prepping for a pumpkin carving night, youβll find your pick here.
Blase Family Farm goes beyond pumpkins with a charming little petting zoo featuring donkeys, goats, pigs, and sheep. The animals are extremely friendly and perfect for both younger kids and adults. The hayride takes you through a peaceful, wooded trail on the property, allowing you to slow down, relax, and breathe in the fresh fall air. The farm also has an incredibly sweet touch: a story walk through the woods featuring Spookley the Square Pumpkinβa story about embracing differences and kindness. Itβs ideal for young kids, and parents will appreciate the mix of outdoor activity and meaningful storytelling. Blase Family Farm may not be the biggest pumpkin patch around, but thatβs what makes it so special. It feels personal, peaceful, and real β the way you remember fall as a kid.

Hallβs Pumpkin Farm
Tucked away just off the beaten path, Hallβs Pumpkin Farm feels like stepping into a classic autumn postcard. The farm has a rustic, family-owned charm that makes you feel instantly welcome. Rows upon rows of vibrant orange pumpkins spread across the field, with hay bales stacked high and corn stalks towering in the background. Itβs the kind of place that makes you want to slow down, take a deep breath, and soak it all in. From mini decorative gourds to giant carving pumpkins, thereβs a pumpkin for everyone here. The farm also has wagons available so you can haul your pumpkin bounty around without breaking a sweat.
One of the highlights of Hallβs is the corn maze, which winds through tall, golden stalks and offers a fun challenge for both kids and adults. Itβs especially magical as the sun starts to dip and the golden hour light filters through the maze. In addition to pumpkin picking and the corn maze, Hallβs offers hayrides that take you through the scenic farm, giving you a relaxing and nostalgic view of the countryside. Pumpkin Nights
Pumpkin Nights isnβt your typical pumpkin patch - itβs a glowing, immersive Halloween art experience built from thousands of pumpkins, lights, fire, and imagination. At Pumpkin Nights, you will set out on a half-mile walking path that winds through themed βlandsβ, where pumpkins come alive as sculpture, story, and light. You will discover 10-foot tall Jack-o-Lanterns, the world's largest pumpkin guitar, a flying 40-foot handmade dragon, a life-size pumpkin pirate ship, and more fantastic surprises built by artists using over 5,000 hand-carved natural and synthetic pumpkins. Journey through the seven different-themed lands for a pumpkin journey like no other!
Some sculptures are built with artificial pumpkins so they stand up to nightly illumination, while others incorporate carved real pumpkins. In the Pumpkin Village, you will find local vendors selling art, drinks, and Halloween goodies, food trucks and drinks, live fire shows, entertainment, and performances, and photo ops galore: cornucopias, pumpkin towers, glowing arches, and more. At Pumpkin Nights, Halloween feels more like a fairytale than a fright.

Located in the small town of Aubrey, Team Family Farms is a charming, fun place for visitors of all ages. During the fall, this family-run farm transforms into an autumn wonderland during their annual Pumpkin Patch Festival. Itβs a full-on experience packed with activities, photo ops, and the kind of memories that stick with your kids long after the leaves have fallen. True to its name, Team Family Farms is a family-focused venue; every inch is designed with little explorers in mind. Thereβs a real sense of warmth and careβfrom the friendly staff to the hands-on activities that invite kids to do what they do best: play, run, climb, and discover.
While the pumpkin patch is the star of the show, there are plenty of other activities to partake in on the farm.
