Located in Fort Worth, Texas, the DFW Car and Toy Museum is a premier destination for automotive enthusiasts and vintage toy collectors alike. The Museum is home to an extraordinary collection of over 200 cars and over 3,000 rare and antique toys, including early tin wind-ups, Tippco die-cast models, and pressed steel collectibles.

About

The DFW Car & Toy Museum was founded by passionate car collector and entrepreneur Ron Sturgeon who has been a dedicated car collector for over 30 years. Since then, Ron has built one of the largest auto salvage operations in the country and amassed a huge collection of cars and toys.

The DFW Car & Toy Museum is housed in a state-of-the-art, 150,000-square-foot facility, designed with museum-quality climate control to protect and preserve its treasured collection. Whether you’re a lifelong car enthusiast, a toy collector, or simply someone who appreciates history, there’s something here for everyone to enjoy.

Cars

With over 200 classic and collectible cars on display, the DFW Car & Toy Museum is nirvana for car lovers. The museum is home to an extraordinary lineup of vehicles including rare exotics, unique oddities, historic marvels, European masterpieces, and pre-owned cars for local enthusiasts. The museum has two big showrooms, an exhibit with cars that shouldn’t exist, a micro cars gallery, a Volkswagen showroom, and an Asian car exhibit. Each automobile on display tells a fascinating story, representing decades of automotive innovation and craftsmanship. My personal favorite automobile was the Mystery Machine from Scooby Doo. I’ve loved Scooby Doo since I was a kid so I was so incredibly happy to take pictures and go inside the car.

Toys

The DFW Car & Toy Museum is home to thousands of toys divided into 30 different collections. Here are a handful of the collections open to visitors:

  • The Christmas Car Collection showcases holiday themed classic and collectible model cars.

  • The Lego Collection features intricate LEGO builds, including cars, vehicles, and creative designs.

  • The Monopoly Collection showcases vintage Monopoly games, rare editions, and collectible boards.

  • The Rare German Collection features features collectible models and automotive pieces from Germany, including classic and vintage designs.

  • The Robots Collection showcases vintage robot toys and futuristic collectibles.

  • The Titanic Collection features models and memorabilia inspired by the RMS Titanic and adds historical depth to the museum experience. As a Titanic history lover, this collection was one of my favorites throughout the whole museum.
